About

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my Heritage Makers blog.  I am a Personal Publishing Coach and Independant Heritage Makers Consultant in Arizona.  I was introduced to Heritage Makers in 2008 and although I was drawn into it as someone who is interested in scrapbooking and creating long lasting keepsakes, I’ve come to realize that Heritage Makers is more than just that.  It is a vehicle to bring heritage to life.

With Heritage Makers, I am showing my daughter who she is through stories of what her family has done and who she is because of them.  I want her to read the story about a little girl they called “PeeWee” who didn’t let her size bring her down and be proud that her great-grandmother is the hero of that story.  I want her say her favorite book is the one about about how “Gramps” grew up drinking milk everyday and grew up so strong that he was able to break a yardstick across his back.  I want her to have stories that she can read over and over again - just as we heard them told by the original storytellers.  Storytellers who will one day no longer be able to tell these stories with their voices.

I also want teach my daughter the values that I learned through my upbringing, which is another reason I love Heritage Makers.  I grew up in Kauai, Hawaii.  I was blessed with knowing the meaning and value of ‘ohana (family) and what it means to live in a diverse and beautiful place.  As much as I want to have her have the same upbringing, I know there is more opportunity for her here (where you can keep driving and not be stopped by shorelines).   But most of all, I hope to teach her roots in what it means to grow up in Hawaii: RESPECT and to “Live Aloha.”

I hope this blog will help you with any questions you have, from creative ideas or how to be a consultant, as I will be updating my blog as my experiences with Heritage Makers grow.

  1. Dear Mayve:

I enjoyed reading your blog and learning about you. I live in Hawaii and “Live Aloha” ever day I can. You certainly do have the aloha spirit. You’ve chosen a wonderful company to be a part of – you have found another ohana:)

    Wishing you the best,
